Our First Flight: Three Distinct Styles

We’re starting with a Scottish single malt, a Scottish blended malt and an American bourbon. Each has its own character, while shared notes of vanilla, sweetness and oak make them an interesting trio to compare.

Auchentoshan American Oak — Light & Bright
This triple-distilled Lowland single malt is matured in American oak bourbon casks. Expect vanilla, coconut and fresh citrus, with a delicate character that makes it a great place to begin the tasting.

Monkey Shoulder — Rounded & Malty
A blend of Scottish single malts, Monkey Shoulder brings orange zest, honey, mellow vanilla and gentle spice. Its rounded, biscuity malt character offers a lovely contrast to Auchentoshan’s lighter citrus notes.

Woodford Reserve — Rich & Warming
A Kentucky bourbon with layers of caramel, toffee, cocoa and warming spice. Its richer sweetness and toasted oak character provide a bold finish to the flight.

Why Taste Them Together?

Tasting side by side makes the differences easier to spot. Follow the vanilla notes through all three, compare the fruit and spice, and notice how the texture changes from delicate to rounded and rich. There’s no right answer—just a chance to discover what you enjoy.
